Dried Beans

So what do you do with all the beans you get from the food bank?  It's always beans, rice and oatmeal. You may get tired of it, but its cheap and nutritious.

Dried beans are inexpensive and very easy to use, but they do take some advance planning.  I always keep some canned beans on hand, because sometimes I forget to soak them or run out of time to just boil them.

This cook booklet offers you tips & advice on making the most out of your bags of beans:

Diets on the Cheap - I eat a lot of beans for the protein. My favorite is my 3 bean chili. Along with lean ground beef, I add extra protein with the beans.  Delish and a healthy and hearty filler! Just what I want!
